Frequently Asked Questions
What are your opening hours?
We do not have specific opening hours, but work from morning to evening as needed.
Is pre-booking mandatory?
We strongly recommend making a reservation in advance, because we work with horses and equip them for excursions.
How do I book and pay the excursion?
The easiest way to make a reservation is through our website, where you can see directly whether there are places for the excursion, prices and cancellation policy. Reservations made directly from the stable can be paid by card or cash.
If I want to cancel my reservation?
Cancellation fee of 100% is charged if cancelled 24 hours or less before the excursion.
What if I'm late?
We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes before the start time of your excursion. The earliest start time is the time stated on your ticket, but since we start at the security checkpoint, you must be there.
Sometimes we can wait for you for max 10 minutes, but after that we have to mark you as a "no show". In this case, you are not entitled to a refund. During the peak season (especially December, February and March) we cannot wait for you at all. Please, be in time!
What if I get ill or injured right before the excursion?
If you get ill or injured and have to cancel the excursion, please apply for compensation from your own travel insurance. We do not refund the payment for excursions canceled due to illness or injury.
How to reach the stable?
On our website, in the "Location" section, you will find detailed arrival instructions and a map. If you use Google Maps, search for "Aurora Horses" and the targeted pin will be in the right place.
Please note that you can easily reach SCV from the center of Rovaniemi by bus number 8.

If I get lost?
When you book, you will receive arrival instructions and a phone number where you can reach the staff. We will be happy to help you if you are unable to find your way despite following the instructions. However, please call BEFORE your excursion starts. Once the excursion starts, we will not answer the phone and will focus on customers who have found their way.
What is included in the price?
Please read the descriptions carefully, and you will find the exact content of each excursion.
How is the animal welfare taken care of?
The Finnhorses are our colleagues and their well-being comes first. Our horses are checked through every morning by our employees, who are trained professionals.. They have constant access to hay and water and are also fed special feed. A record is kept of the amount of work done by our horses. A healthy and well-being horse is safe for customer use.
Is there an age limit for the excursions?
All our sleigh rides are age-restricted.
Our farm visit tour is intended for 3-12 year olds.
Other riding tours are suitable for children with previous riding experience, or if there is no experience at all, we have recommended an age limit of 5 years.
Am I insured by the excursion organizer?
Our company has liability insurance. Please note, however, that a fall, falling off a horse or similar accident is considered one of the risks of the sport, in which case any injuries will be covered by the participant's own accident insurance.
We therefore recommend comprehensive travel and accident insurance for everyone, and separately note that some insurance companies consider riding as an extreme sport.
We recommend...
Always take care of your insurance matters before your trip: comprehensive travel and accident insurance guarantee carefree vacation days.
